Slow-Cooker Spareribs with Barbecue Sauce


Bring the backyard barbecue to your kitchen any time of year. Juicy spareribs get a paleo makeover in this simple, crowd-pleasing main that can prepped  in the morning, so you can come home to a hot, satisfying dinner. Serve with a side salad or roasted veggies.

  • 3 pounds of pork spareribs  
  • 1 large onion, quartered  
  • 1 6-oz can tomato paste  
  • ½ c. water  
  • ¼ c. apple cider vinegar  
  • 2 tbsp Paleo-compliant Worcestershire sauce 
  • 2 tsp ground mustard  
  • 1½ t. kosher salt  
  • 1 t. paprika  
  • ¼ t. each allspice, cloves and ginger  
  • Juice from 1 large orange   


  1. Place spareribs and onions in a slow cooker.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Stir well and pour over ribs.
  3. Cover and cook on high heat for five hours.
