Chasteberry

Chasteberry is the fruit from the chaste tree, which is native to Central Asia and the Mediterranean. It was believed to promote chastity and was used by monks in the Middle Ages to decrease sexual desire. It was also used for reproductive disorders. Today, chasteberry is used as a supplement for menstrual problems, menopause symptoms, infertility and more.

So far there is no evidence that chasteberry helps with menstrual symptoms.

Women on birth control or hormone replacement therapy, or who have a hormone-sensitive condition, should not use chasteberry. People taking dopamine-related medications, such as certain antipsychotic drugs and Parkinson’s disease medication, should avoid using it as well.
