In modern society, fatigue symptoms are severely affecting our quality of life. In addition to getting good sleep, a healthy diet and a regular exercise routine, natural remedies can help combat mental and physical symptoms of fatigue. Here are a few with science-backed results.

Moringa

Moringa is noted as one of the most nutritious food sources in the world and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Recently, scientists have studied moringa for its many health benefits, including immune support, to counteract feelings of fatigue and to boost cognitive function and mood.

Moringa is a rich source of protein, beta-carotene, protein, vitamin C, calcium and other natural antioxidants.

In a 2019 study to investigate the anti-fatigue effects of moringa, researchers found that subjects who took 120 milligrams of moringa seed extract daily for four weeks experienced improvement in symptoms of fatigue when compared to subjects who had taken a placebo.

Magnesium

Early signs of a magnesium deficiency include loss of appetite, nausea, weakness and fatigue. Other symptoms include stress, anxiety and trouble sleeping.

Health experts believe that most Americans are deficient in magnesium. In fact, a 2017 review article estimated that up to 68 percent of Americans fell into this category.

The average recommended daily amounts of magnesium are 310-320 milligrams for women and 400-420 milligrams for men.

Rhodiola Rosea

Rhodiola rosea is a popular adaptogen, a compound that helps your body adapt to stress. The supplement has been used for many years and is known to help with alleviating mood, reducing fatigue and enhancing athletic performance.

In a 2017 study, subjects who supplemented with Rhodiola rosea at 200 milligrams twice daily every day for eight weeks noted a significant decrease in fatigue symptoms.
