Wild Friends started on a rainy day with two friends, a food processor and a love of peanut butter.
Roommates and athletes at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Erika Welsh and Keeley Tillotson relied on peanut butter as a food staple. But when they ran out of PB one afternoon and it was pouring rain, the two entrepreneurs pulled out their food processor, some peanuts, salt and oil and made their own. Wild Friends was born.
“Our goal is to make fun and friendly food,” says Welsh of Wild Friends’ various flavored nut butters. “Friendly means a short ingredient list and friendly people behind the brand.” Wild Friends officially launched in 2011 with their Cinnamon Raisin and Honey Peanut Butter flavors.
Today, the company offers a multitude of blends and seasonal concoctions in peanut butters and almond butters; they’ve recently added sunflower butter, too. Visit wildfriendsfoods.com for more.
