Since 2006, Boulder Organic (originally called Boulder Soup Works) has been creating flavorful, nourishing soups using garden-fresh ingredients. Founder Kate Brown started the company completely by accident. “I usually make my own soup, but when my 9-year-old daughter had her tonsils out, I wanted to get her some soup quickly, so I went to a local grocery store for some ‘fresh’ soup. But I was shocked by the weird ingredients, and fat and calories in it,” she says.
Soon after, she started talking to other parents and found they were in search of good, healthy soups, too. She worked on recipes and had tastings at her house. The company was born.
While most soups are packaged in a can, Boulder Organic creations are made at their Niwot, Colo., facility and vacuum-sealed in plastic containers so you can actually see what’s inside. All recipes are gluten-free, non-GMO and USDA certified organic, with many vegan and vegetarian options. “Our vision is that we make soup better,” says Brown. You’ll find Boulder Organic soups in the refrigerator section. Check out their great flavors at boulderorganicfoods.com.
