“Say Goodnight to Wrinkles” Eye Therapy

It's not just about what you use on the delicate skin around your eyes, but how you apply it.

This simple treatment is deeply conditioning and softening and helps keep dry, crinkly wrinkles at bay. I find the light application of oil extremely soothing to the area around my eyes, especially if I’ve been outdoors in glaring sun ( and forgot my sunglasses) or have spent hours staring into a computer screen.

Yield: 1 treatment
Recommended for all skin types, except oily

Ingredients:

1⁄4 teaspoon almond, apricot kernel, avocado, extra-virgin olive, jojoba, macadamia, or sesame oil

To Apply:

Cleanse and tone your face, leaving it slightly damp, especially the eye area. Pour a few drops of your chosen base oil into the palm of your hand — approximately 1⁄4 teaspoon will do.

Dip your ring finger into the oil and gently pat the substance around (not directly on) your eye in this fashion: Begin at the outer corner and slowly move beneath your eye toward the inner corner, then onto the very upper portion of the lid or brow bone area just below the actual brow, and back over to the outer corner. Do this several times, then pat off any excess oil, leaving a light film of oil on your skin.

Use daily. Follow with moisturizer.

Caution: The reason for not applying the oil directly onto the lid and lashes is that if any of the oil were to get into your eye, it could potentially clog your tear ducts and cause puffiness (which we’re trying to avoid!). The delicate eye area acts like a wick and will draw the moisture and lipids (fats) it needs from the surrounding plump, healthy skin tissue.
