Mulled Wine in a Crock Pot

Spice up your holiday wine with this super easy recipe!

  • 2 bottles red zinfandel wine
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup (8 oz.) agave (you could try maple syrup!)
  • 2 lemons, zested and juiced
  • 2 oranges, zested and juiced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 star anise
  • 10 cloves
  • 8 ounces brandy


  • In your crock pot (or just a regular pot on the stove if you don't have a crock pot!), dump in the wine, cider, agave, lemon and orange juice.
  • In a cheesecloth orcheesecloth bag, add all the zest.
  • In another one, add all the spices.
  • Add both to the pot!
  • Cook on really really low (if on the stove) or high heat (if in a cockpot) for 2-4 hours. The most heat you want to give the wine is a very low simmer.
  • When you're ready to serve, stir in the cup of brandy and have fun!
